Springfield is right back on the road after earning 3 points out of a possible 4 in Topeka. Friday Springfield roared back in the 3rd period with 4 goals highlighted by a Hat Trick from Brennan BLasczcak to win 4-2. Saturday Devin Colley stopped all 28 shots in regulation to earn a point, but surrendered one goal in the shootout and Springfield dropped the contest 1-0. Going into Cloquet this weekend Springfield will look to for similar results against a Wilderness team who split their previous two games with Aberdeen at home in the Northwood Credit Union Arena.

The Wilderness have a record of 5-6-0-0 under head coach Tim Madsen who is in his first season as the Wilderness head coach. He guided the Wilderness to a 3-0 win over Springfield back on 9/30 but Springfield was able to earn the split with a 4-2 win on 10/1.

Coach Zow was pleased with the 3-point weekend but feels a much needed point was left on the table and believes the team could have come home with the sweep. “It’s part of the maturation process for our young team and it is imperative the boys learn and grow so they can grind out the extra point when our goaltender gives us every chance to win.”
