What you need to know about billeting ⬇️1. Junior hockey brings players together from different states, countries, cultures, and backgrounds. Billeting gives your family the unique opportunity to get to know someone you may have never crossed paths with otherwise. You get to learn about where they come from, share traditions, and introduce them to your own community!😁2. A billet player may start the season as someone new staying in your home, but it often doesn’t stay that way for long. Between family dinners, everyday conversations, game nights, holidays, and all the little moments in between, players often become another member of the family. Many billet families stay connected with their players for years after their junior hockey careers are over🫂3. Junior hockey players spend months away from their own families while chasing the opportunity to play at the next level. Having a welcoming, supportive home to return to every day can make an incredible difference. A billet family provides stability, encouragement, and a sense of normalcy during a season filled with fast paced action❤️4. When you billet, you aren’t just welcoming a player… you’re joining a whole community. Billet families become an important part of the team, getting to know other players, families, staff, fans, and fellow billets throughout the season. You get a unique, behind-the-scenes connection to the team and the opportunity to cheer on someone who has become part of your own family. You join a community of families who come together to support each other and the players they house! 🤝5. Billet families are one of the most important pieces of junior hockey. Players relocate from across the country and around the world to pursue their goals, and they need safe, welcoming homes while they’re here. Without families willing to open their doors,5. many players simply wouldn’t have the opportunity to compete, develop, and chase their dreams. Opening your home helps make their hockey journey possible 🥰Interested? Click the link in our bio to find out more information 💙#springfieldjrblues #billeting #springfieldil #nahl ...
