Williams Lands at #9 on Central Scouting

Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud member of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that goaltender Jack Williams has been ranked #9 on the NHL Central Scouting List for North American goaltenders.

Williams, 17, has already committed to play for Michigan State University in the B1G Hockey Conference for the 2020-21 season. The St. Louis, MO native currently sports a 11-10-0-0-1 record with a 3.01 GAA and a .893 save percentage. In 1297 minutes played, Williams has given up 65 goals on 607 shots against. It’s Williams’ first season in the NAHL after playing for the St. Louis AAA Blues U16 team the last two seasons.

Two players were selected in the 2018 NHL Draft directly from the NAHL, Jakov Novak of the Janesville Jets (Ottawa Senators, Rd. 7 Pick 188), and Mitchell Gibson of the Lone Star Brahmas (Washington Capitals, Rd.4 Pick 124).

The 2019 NHL Entry Draft will take place on June 21st and 22nd at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC, Canada. It will be the 3rd time Vancouver has hosted the draft (1990 and 2006).
