U of I Wins the Battle Of Central Illinois

The Jr. Blues lost to University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana in their final preseason game on Friday night 4-2.  U of I struck first off a Jr. Blues turnover.  In the second, the Jr. Blues fought back to take a 2-1 lead with goals from Davis Dekorte and Jack Sloan before the Illini tied the game going into the third period.  The Jr. Blues peppered the Illini goaltender with 18 shots in the period but came up short as it was the Illini who was able to beat Sandro Aeschlimann with 2 goals on 6 shots to secure a 4-2 win.



The Jr. Blues start the regular season on Wednesday morning versus the Fairbank Ice Dogs in the Blaine Showcase.  The Jr Blues play their first 8 games on the roads before their home opener on Friday and Saturday October 11 and 12 versus the Soo Eagles.
