Techel Commits to UW-Eau Claire

Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Nick Techel has committed to play collegiate hockey at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire!

Techel, 20, played only one season for the Jr. Blues, but in 58 games he had 15 goals and 23 assists. Techel spent the 2017-18 season playing for the Soo Eagles in the NOJHL where he put up 85 points in 56 games.

“Eau Claire is adding a player that works hard and can contribute offensively,” coach Tyler Rennette said. “We wish the best of luck to Nick next season.”

UW-Eau Claire Blugolds are members of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and are based out of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The Blugolds won the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2013, have won four WIAC Championships, and had 3 NAHL alumni on their 2018-19 roster.
