Springfield’s Sardina Commits to Lake Forest College

The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Joey Sardina has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the Lake Forest College Foresters.
Sardina, a Red Oak, Texas native, came to Springfield late in the 2016-17 season in a trade with the Bismarck Bobcats. In 16 games with Springfield, Sardina tallied 2 goals and 5 assists. Overall during the 2016-17 season, Sardina had 21 points in 51 games played.
Sardina began his NAHL career during the 2014-15 season with the Kenai River Brown Bears. He played in 157 career games over the course of three seasons and had 57 career points.
He was selected to and played in the 2016 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the Midwest Division team, where he had a goal in two games.
Lake Forest College competes in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association. The school is located in Lake Forest, Illinois just north of Chicago. This past season, the Foresters finished 16-10 falling in the NCHA Quarterfinals.
