Springfield Wins the Battle of the Jr. Blues

The Jr. Blues hit the ice Saturday night against the St. Louis Jr. Blues of the North American 3 Hockey League.  The NA3HL is a developmental league of the NAHL.  It was the first game of the preseason.  Springfield scored quickly in the contest and never looked back as they won 8-0 in the contest.

 

The Jr. Blues were lead by their returning players as Trevor Stone scored two goals, Mike Severson has three assists, Oliver Takacsi-Nagy had a goal and assist, and Ji Li has 2 assists.  Adding to the goals were newcomers Nick Belger, Brendan Jacques, Garett Gambino, Will Scherer, and James Roznowski.  Stephanios Lekkas had 14 saves in the shutout.

 

“I thought we moved the puck well.” Said Head Coach Tony Zasowski “ We learned a lot about our guys today and were encouraged by what we saw today out of the veterans and rookies.”

 

The Jr. Blues return to action Friday and Saturday night against Peoria Mustangs of the NA3HL.  Games are at 7:05 pm.  Tickets are Free at the Nelson Center and Quaker Steak & Lube or can be purchased for $5 at the door.
