Sep 28, 2016

In day three of the showcase the Springfield Jr. Blues took on the New Jersey Titans.

Springfield din’t get off to a great start going down 2-0 after two first period goals from the TItans. However, 40 seconds after the second Titans goal Luke Picek found the back of the net off assists from Mark Leach and Michael Hodgson to cut the Titans lead to 2-1. New Jersey got the first goal of the second period at the 7:57 mark to push their lead to 3-1. Brennan Blaszczak cut back into the lead with a goal off assists from Matt Long and Max Nylander to make the score 3-2. While Springfield was fighting hard to try and mount a comeback in the third period, the Titans added an empty net goal in the third period to push the score to 4-2, which would be the game’s final.

Evan Fear blocked 38 of 41 shots he faced in the loss.

Springfield plays one more game at the NAHL Showcase before heading home. They will be taking on the Brookings Blizzard tomorrow (9/24) at 3:30pm
