Skinner’s Hat Trick leads Jr. Blues to 5-3 Win

Your Springfield Jr. Blues walked away with a 5-3 win tonight against the Topeka RoadRunners, sweeping the series.

Topeka found the back of the net first with a goal at 4:43 in the first period. Springfield responded at 14:23 of the first, with a goal from Skinner, assists from Marek and Brainin to tie up the game and end the 1st period 1-1.

Skinner started off the scoring for Springfield in the 2nd period with an unassisted goal 2:00 into the period. 1:03 later, Topeka lit the lamp, tying the game once again but Shane Halivand broke the tie at 15:05, with assists from Stewart and Schultz. Score was 3-2 at the end of the period.

Our third period began with a hat trick from Skinner with assists from Muzzillo and Ozborne, scoring at 9:41! Marek also found the net with the same assists at 11:53. Topeka responded, making the score 5-3.
