Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that we will be playing five pre-season contests this year. The Nelson Center will host two games while three games will be played at the 2019 Southern Showdown in North Richland Hills, TX.

The Jr. Blues 2019-20 season technically begins at the Showcase in Blaine, MN, but the action begins nearly a month earlier. The St. Louis Jr. Blues of the NA3HL will visit the Nelson Center on August 31st for game one of the preseason. Fans will get their first look at the Jr. Blues roster for the upcoming season with puck drop set for 6:05 pm.

The following week will see the team travel to Texas for three games against members of the South Division. The action begins on Friday September 6th at 5:45 pm as the Jr. Blues battle the Corpus Christi IceRays. The following evening the Jr. Blues will face-off with the Lonestar Brahmas also at 5:45 pm. The weekend wraps up with a Sunday afternoon tilt against the Shreveport Mudbugs at 2:10 pm.

The preseason will conclude on September 13th as the Lindenwood Lions of the ACHA pay a visit to Springfield. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm and will be the final test for the Jr. Blues before departing for Minnesota.

The Springfield Jr. Blues home opener will be September 27th at 7:05 pm against the Topeka Pilots. Eight of the first 10 games (excluding the showcase) will be played at home for the Jr. Blues as we will see Topeka, Shreveport, and the Minnesota Magicians all come to town.
