Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues are back in the hunt for another Robertson Cup Championship and for the first time since April 2019 will be hosting playoff hockey. It all gets underway tomorrow evening, and we wanted to make sure you knew the latest about our first round series against the Anchorage Wolverines!
Season Series:
The Jr. Blues won the overall season series with Anchorage, 4 -2. In October the Wolverines opened up their home portion of their inaugural season by taking two of three against the Jr. Blues and handed our boys their first weekend series loss of the season.
But when the two teams met again in February, the tides shifted in the opposite direction. The Jr. Blues swept the Wolverines over Super Bowl weekend and propelled ourselves into 1st place in the league and division.
Both teams were able to capitalize offensively in their respective series wins, but it was the Jr. Blues who outscored the Wolverines overall in the series, 18-17. The two teams combined for 306 penalty minutes (SPR 170, ANC 136) with 12 special teams goals between them (SPR 4 ANC 8).

Cash and Card Accepted – We accept both cash and card at ticketing, merchandise, and concessions (minimum $5 for all card transactions), but only cash is accepted at the beer stand. There is an ATM machine in the lobby, but we recommend grabbing cash before arrival in case of any issues with the machine.
Parking – Parking at the Nelson Center is limited and the lot fills up quickly. We recommend arriving early to ensure you are able to get a good spot near the door. Parking is allowed along the road throughout the park but parking on the grass is prohibited.
