Mar 17, 2020

Springfield, Illinois – The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has announced that all remaining 2019-20 regular season games have been canceled effective immediately due to the International medical emergency caused by COVID-19 and pandemic. The NAHL’s regular season was scheduled to end on Sunday, April 4th.

Statement from NAHL Commissioner Mark Frankenfeld:

“We understand that this is a very difficult time for our hockey community and we are working on all options in order to conclude the season with a Robertson Cup Championship. We are  actively and continuously monitoring a very difficult situation in order to make the right decision for everyone involved.”

The Springfield Jr. Blues would like to take this time to thank our sponsors, fans, billet families, volunteers, staff, and players for everything this year. Our success is dependent upon you, and because of your dedication and support we are able to return year after year to provide family fun entertainment to our community.

While we are all saddened at the news that we will not be able to finish the 2019-20 season, we recognize the severity of the current situation and our number one priority is the health of everyone in our hockey family.

As more information comes out, we will keep you updated as to when you will be able to see more Jr. Blues hockey. But for now, we encourage everyone to follow the guidelines set down by the CDC and other government agencies.
