Michigan Showcase Preview

Jun 1, 2023

Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are getting ready to head to Farmington Hills, MI for the Michigan Showcase Camp which takes place June 2-4 at Farmington Hills Ice Arena. The Jr. Blues will be joined by three other NAHL members, The Aberdeen Wings, North Iowa Bulls, and one of the new franchises to join the NAHL, The Colorado Grit.

“The Showcase is a great opportunity for players to get in front of four North American Hockey League coaching staffs before the draft in June,” said Head Coach Todd Pococke. “It’s tough for coaches in our league to see a lot of these players throughout the year, so these camps provide us the opportunity to do so.”

The Jr. Blues have had some great success finding players for their roster that attended Showcase camps. Last season’s goal leader, Tyler Borgula, attended the camp in Farmington Hills. He notched 21 goals and 42 points for the Jr. Blues last season and committed to further his hockey and academic career at Quinnipiac University.

The action gets underway tomorrow at 12pm EST and will conclude on Sunday, June 4 at 2:45pm EST.
