Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce our schedule for our 2021 Main Tryout Camp! It’s been since February 2020 that we’ve had a full weekend of Jr. Blues hockey and we CAN NOT CONTAIN OURSELVES!
The action commences on Thursday as players will descend upon Springfield to begin registration and on-ice practices. Games begin Friday morning and run throughout the weekend culminating with our 28th Annual All-Star Game on Sunday morning. Team roster will be posted after the All Star Game and we will wrap the weekend up with our first meeting with the 2021-22 Jr. Blues roster.
Here is a Summary of our 2021 Main Camp Schedule:
Thursday:
- 10 – 11 AM – Registration
- 12:30 – 7:45 PM – On-Ice Practices
Friday:
- 8 – 11:30 AM – Morning Games
- 2 – 5:30 PM – Afternoon Games
Saturday:
- 8 – 11:30 AM – Morning Games
- 12:45 PM – 1st Cuts Posted
- 4 – 6:15 PM Evening Games
- 7:30 PM – All Star Game Rosters Announced
Sunday:
- 8:30 – 10:30 AM – Meeting with All Star Players
- 11:30 AM – All Star Game
- 1:30 PM – Team Posted
For our main camp this year we have chosen 12 of our alumni who have showcased the characteristics of a Jr. Blues player both on and off the ice. Each of these selected alumni have gone on to do phenomenal things in the hockey world and we are proud of their achievements and success.
Team: Fineman (Gray), Long (White), Stewart (Blue), Villegas (Purple), Puricelli (Black), Swanson (Red). Teams after 1st Cuts: Lekkas (Purple), Rallo (Red), Nappier (Blue), Fear (Black). Our two all star game teams this year will be Team Stone (Navy) & Team Lancaster (Gold).
All games this weekend are open to the public and we encourage our fans and sponsors to come out and enjoy hockey at The Nelson Center! We are working to ensure that we will be able to have concessions open for fans, and our staff will be available to answer questions in regards to Season Tickets, Billeting, and Volunteering.
