Jr. Blues Week Ahead – Wisconsin Windigo

Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues are back on the road again this coming weekend as they travel to Eagle River, WI for a two-game set against the Wisconsin Windigo. The Jr. Blues are coming off a weekend split with the North Iowa Bulls where they picked up 3 out of a possible 4 points in the standings. The Jr. Blues swept the Windigo October 13th & 14th at the Nelson Center, and since that, are 6-2-0-1.

The Jr. Blues, who currently sit in 8th place in the Midwest Division, have a record of 6-10-2-1 and look to continue their stellar play when the puck drops Friday night at the Dome in Eagle River. Veteran center and team captain Isaac Keller continues to lead the team in scoring with 14 points. He is tied with Trey Jefferis, who was called up to the Sioux City Musketeers on Sunday. Defensemen Jake Peterson has 13 points on the year and is tied for 10th place in league scoring among defensemen. JJ Cataldo, who the Jr. Blues acquired from the Windigo earlier in the season, continues to carry the load in net playing 15 of the 19 games. He has a record of 6-6-1-1 and 2.60 goals against average and .922 save percentage.

The Windigo currently sit in 2nd place in the Midwest Division with a record of 10-7-2-0 for 22 points, 2 points behind the Minnesota Wilderness. Forwards Max Martin, Tyler Grahme, and Will Schumacher lead the way offensively for the Windigo. Martin leads the NAHL in scoring with 34 points and Schumacher leads the league with 15 goals in just 17 games played. Latvian native, Linards Lipskis, has been carrying the load in the net for the Windigo. He has won 9 games this season and has 2.60 goals against average and .917 save percentage.

The puck drops at 7:00 PM CST both Friday and Saturday night. Both games will be streamed live on NAHLTV. The Jr. Blues will return to the Nelson Center on Friday November 17th and Saturday November 18thwhen the Janesville Jets come to town.
