Jr. Blues Week Ahead – North Iowa Bulls

Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues are finally back on home ice this weekend after a 13 day, 5 game road trip to Alaska. The Jr. Blues picked up three wins during the trip and look to continue their solid play when they host the North Iowa Bulls for an out of division match up Friday and Saturday at the Nelson Center.

The Jr. Blues, who currently sit in 8th place in the Midwest Division, have a record of 5-10-2-0 and look to continue their hot play when the puck drops Friday night. Goaltender JJ Cataldo has been leading the way for the Jr. Blues and has picked up five wins in his last six starts. He has a record of 5-6-1 with 2.54 goals against average and a .917 save percentage with one shutout. Defensemen Jake Peterson currently leads the team in scoring with 12 points. Rookie forward Trey Jefferis leads the team in goals with 6 and has 11 points in 12 games since joining the team.

The Bulls sit in 6th place in the Central Division with a record of 4-9-0-0 for 8 points. Veteran forward Justin Mexico currently leads the Bulls in scoring with 7 goals and 12 points. Goaltender Connor Graham has been carrying most of the load for the Bulls. He has a record of 4-3 with 2.78 goals against average and .904 save percentage. The Bulls have won three straight including a sweep over the St. Cloud Norsemen last weekend on home ice.
