Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues return to home ice this weekend as the Janesville Jets make their first trip of the season to the Nelson Center. The Jr. Blues are coming off a weekend split against the Wisconsin Windigo. They won 5-4 in overtime on Friday night and lost 6-2 on Saturday.
The Jr. Blues, who currently sit in 8th place in the Midwest Division, have a record of 7-11-2-1 for 17 points and are 6-3-0-1 in their last 10 games. Veteran center Isaac Keller continues to lead the team in scoring with 6 goals, 10 assists, and 16 points. Defensemen Jake Peterson now has 15 points on the year and is in the top 10 scoring defensemen in the NAHL. With Trey Jefferis called up to the USHL, forward Anthony Ruklic has picked up his play and now has 6 goals and 12 points on the year. Goaltender JJ Cataldo continues to carry the load in net and has appeared in 17 of the 21 games this season. He has a record of 7-7-1-1 with 2.96 goals against and .910 save percentage.
The Jets currently sit in 6th place in the Midwest Division with a record of 9-9-2-0 for 20 points and are second in the division with 80 goals scored. Forward Haden Kruse sits in 4th place among scoring leaders in the NAHL with 10 goals, 19 assists and 29 points in just 19 games played. Defensemen Connor Brown leads the league in defensemen scoring with 23 points in 18 games. Veteran forward Merril Steenari can also produce offensively as he has 11 goals in just 14 games played. The Jets have looked to goaltender Matthew Alberti to carry the load in net. Alberti has a record of 8-3-2-0 with 2.93 goals against and .910 save percentage.
