Jr. Blues Volunteer at Ronald McDonald House

Feb 4, 2013

The Springfield Jr. Blues teamed up with the Ronald McDonald House of Springfield to cook a meal for 15 families, roughly 40 people in all. 10 players set out to the Ronald McDonald House last Thursday evening to make a pasta meal for the kids. The team cooked 5 pounds of pasta, 3 pounds of meat which was put into 2 gallons of pasta sauce, a pound of green beans and 5 loafs of bread.

This was the first time the Jr. Blues have worked with the Ronald McDonald House this season but won't be the last. The team will cook meals for them once a month and help out with other various tasks. In a couple of weeks, the team will assist them in changing out all 15 of their mattresses they currently have.
