Jr. Blues Unable to Upset Magicians

Apr 22, 2019

Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues lost both games to the Minnesota Magicians this past weekend and have now been eliminated from the playoffs. With the conclusion of the Jr. Blues playoff run, 12 players will look to move onto college hockey to continue their hockey careers. For the rest of the team they will look to take some time off before preparing for the 2019-20 season.

Friday’s game was controlled by the Magicians from the beginning of the game to the end in a 5-0 shutout. Saturday’s game began similarly before Jayden Jensen, Brendan Aird, and Caden Villegas helped the Jr. Blues attempt a desperate 3rd period rally before falling 6-3. In the end the Magicians advanced to the 2nd round of the Robertson Cup Playoffs and will play the regular season division winners Fairbanks.

The Springfield Jr. Blues would like to thank the fans, billet families, parents, and the Springfield community for their unwavering support throughout the season.
