Jr Blues Split the Weekend

Oct 31, 2015

The Jr Blues scored two short handed goals, on way to a 3-2 victory over the Topeka Roadrunners, to earn the weekend split.

The Jr Blues got out to an early lead when Hunter Schneider scored off the assist from Joey Lupo at the 0:48 mark in the first period. Topeka was able to tie it up a few minutes later. Schneider then gave the Jr Blues the 2-1 lead with a short handed goal in the second off assists from Kyle Meeh and Joey Lupo. Later in the period, Brennan Blaszczak was able to score another short handed goal for the Jr Blues to extend the lead to 3-1 heading into the third period. Topeka would score one in the third but it wouldn't be enough and the Jr Blues would hold on for the win.

Tommy Nappier picked up the win with 25 saves.

The Jr Blues will be playing the roadrunners again next weekend, but in Topeka. They return for a homestand against the Minnesota Wilderness on November 13th and 14th. Friday the 13th is Armed Services Appreciation night with $5 tickets at the door for active and retired military and Saturday the 14th is Teacher Appreciation Night with $5 tickets at the door for teachers and school staff with ID.
