Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that we have signed forward Jayar Luedke to a tender agreement for the 2023-24 season!

Luedke, a native of Inver Grove Heights, MN, is wrapping up his youth hockey career with the CarShield 18U AAA team this season. So far between the NAPHL and 18U hockey seasons he has skated in 46 games and registered 18 goals, 7 assists, and 96 penalty minutes

“Jayar is a hard working young player with a lot of potential and skill,” said Head Coach Tyler Rennette. “We want to congratulate him for all of his work that has got him to this point and we’re looking forward to seeing how he finishes the season!”

Prior to joining CarShield this year, he played for Simley High School (MN), the Minnesota Loons (NA3HL), and Fairbanks Ice Dogs 18U AAA (NAPHL) last season. Overall in 40 games during the 2021-22 season split between those three teams he scored 23 goals and 20 assists alongside 114 penalty minutes.

Luedke joins Nick Bunch (Belle Tire 18U AAA) as the second player to sign a tender with the Jr. Blues for the 2023-24 season.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team.Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which is held each year in the summer.
