Jr. Blues Select Three in Supplemental Draft

Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that we have drafted Liam Svensson, Grayson Valente, and Austin Spiridakis in this afternoon’s 2020 NAHL Supplemental Draft!

Liam Svensson, a native of Sweden, was selected with #5 overall pick by the Jr. Blues. Svensson played this past season for the Malmo Redhawks J20 squad, appearing in 32 games and scoring 7 goals and 6 assists. The 6’3” 196 lbs. left handed forward grew up playing in the Frolunda HC program in Sweden.

The second selection for the Jr. Blues was Grayson Valente, taken #42 overall. Valente, a native of Vancouver, BC, Canada, is a left handed defenseman who played in 51 games for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs and scored 2 goals and 15 assists. The 6’3” 210 lbs. Valente has played the last three seasons for the Bulldogs, and in 138 BCHL games has recorded 10 goals, 29 assists, and 143 PIMs. 

Austin Spiridakis, our third and final selection in the draft, was taken #58 overall. Spiridakis, a native of St. Albert, AB, Canada, is a 5’10” 181 lbs. right handed forward who appeared in 46 games for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs and scored 12 goals and 7 assists. In two seasons in the BCHL, Spiridakis recorded 18 goals and 12 assists in 98 games. 

We want to congratulate these young men for being selected today and we hope that they continue working hard in preparation for our camp this summer at The Nelson Center! We also want to remind everyone that the 2020 NAHL Entry Draft is scheduled for July 21st at 1pm CST.
