Jr Blues Fall To Topeka

Nov 30, 2015

The Jr Blues weren’t able to pick up a win in Topeka this weekend as the Roadrunners got a pair of 2-1 victories.

Friday night, all of the scoring occurred in the second period. Sam Craggs scored to give the Jr Blues a 1-0 but then Topeka scored twice to gain the lead they wouldn’t give up. Tommy Nappier had 37 saves on the 39 shots he saw on the night.

Saturday night, the second period was where most of the action was as well. Topeka scored at the 7:55 mark to give the Roadrunners a 1-0 lead. Then Brennan Blaszczak beat the buzzer to put in a goal at the 19:59 mark off the assist from Brady Tomlak to tie the game at 1-1. Neither team would score in the third and the game would go into overtime.  Topeka would score at the 4:57 mark of overtime to give them a 2-1 win.

The Jr Blues are back at home this weekend to take on the Coulee Region Chill. Friday night is Police and Firefighter Appreciation Night with $5 tickets at the door for any active or retired PDFD. Saturday is $1 Coors Light draft night sponsored by Robert Chick Fritz Distributing.
