Get ready to call two teams from Alaska Divisional foes of the Springfield Jr. Blues

The North American Hockey League announced Tuesday it’s re-aligning the four divisions after a flurry of franchise shuffling in the offseason. Springfield will now play in the Midwest Division with the Coulee Region Chill, the Janesville Jets, the Minnesota Wilderness, the Kenai River Brown Bears, and the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.

The Blues had played in the North Division with the Jets, the Soo Eagles (franchise moving to New Jersey), Johnstown Tomahawks, the Michigan Warriors and Keystone Ice Miners (latter two franchises dormant). The new East Division will include new NAHL teams in Trenton, NJ, Wilkes-Barre, PA, and Aston, PA, in addition to the Tomahawks.

The league says it’ll announce a playoff format and schedule for the upcoming season in the future.
