Jr. Blues defeat Chicago 9-3; Reach milestone win 500!

Following Friday night's major collapse in the series opener against Chicago, head coach Joe Dibble and the Springfield Junior Blues electrictified the totaled attendance of 1,217 inside the Nelson Center with a dazzling performance on Saturday night as they defeated the Hitmen 9-to-3, and reached milestone win number 500! Springfield came out firing on all cylinders as they outshot Chicago 58-to-25, and netted a goal just 1:26 into the game from Ben Kramer. The Junior Blues got two goals each in the second period from both of the likes' of Kyle Cook and Chris Sitler, which rallied a five-goal second' that dashed any hopes of a Chicago repeat, and back-to-back collapses from Springfield. Garrett Williams added in two goals himself as well, scoring one in the second, and one in the third. Also scoring goals for the Junior Blues' was Gavin Tufte and Brett Skibba. Tyler Parks got himself another win in the net, as he stopped 22-of-25 shots attempted against him. Nick Kohn, the Hitmen starting net-minder, got the lost as he saved 43-of-51 shots against him. The Blues went 2-for-4 on the power play–while Chicago went just 1-for-8. The Hitmen got goals from the likes of Steven Sherman, and two from Anthony Annunziato. The rubber-match of the three game series' concludes tomorrow at 4 pm inside the Nelson Center.
