Matt Leon stood on his head and made 33 saves to lead the Springfield Jr. Blues to a 7-1 victory over the Soo Eagles.

Springfield was sparked by Tom Cooney, who finished with one goal. Cooney scored 16:35 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Springfield. Jon Carkeek picked up the assist.

The Jr. Blues put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Soo to score on any of its three power plays. Springfield's goal total was higher than its season average.
