Jr. Blues Add Assistant Coach for 2019-20 Season

Sep 13, 2019

Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that Todd Pococke has joined our team as an Assistant Coach for the 2019-20 NAHL season.

Pococke comes to Springfield after serving as the Head Coach of the Florida Jr. Blades (USPHL) for the last six seasons. While manning the helm of the Jr. Blades, Pococke led his team to two championships, one runner-up finish, and six consecutive playoff appearances. Todd additionally served as the Facility Director for Athletic Republic (a training facility within the Jr. Blades arena) and was the Head of Strength and Conditioning for the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.

This will not be his first taste of the NAHL as he played alongside future Stanley Cup Champion Patrick Maroon and Jr. Blues alum Kyle O’ Kane on the 2006-07 St. Louis Bandits, who won the Robertson Cup that season under the guidance of future NHL Head Coach Jon Cooper. Pococke then went on to play four seasons for Ferris State University and graduated with a degree in Exercise Science.

Todd and his wife Andrea, whom he married in April of 2018, are excited for the opportunity to join the Jr. Blues.

“My wife and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of such a prestigious organization. Thank you to Tyler and Dan for giving me this great opportunity, I can’t wait to get started,” said Pococke about his new position. “I owe a lot to the Florida Jr. Blades organization and staff; I’ve grown tremendously through this program over the last six years. Thank you to Tad O’ Had, Ron Kinnear, Tyler Carlston, and Nicole Solow for believing and trusting in me, their support means so much to me.”

We would like to wish a warm Jr. Blues welcome to Todd and his wife Andrea on their arrival here in Springfield!
