Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce the acquisition of forward Matt Lewis from the Philadelphia Rebels.
Lewis, a native of Pembroke, MA, appeared in 44 games with the Rebels during the 2022-23 season and tallied 4 goals and 6 assists to go along with 67 penalty minutes. Prior to last season, Matt spent two seasons at Mount St. Charles Academy in Rhode Island.
“Matt is a high character kid that is not afraid to play through his opponent,” said Head Coach Todd Pococke. “He has the ability to play up and down the line up and we are lucky to have him.”
Lewis will join all our returning, drafted, tendered players at Main Camp July 6-9 at the Nelson Center in Springfield. We want to welcome Matt and we look forward seeing him in a Jr. Blues jersey!
