Jr. Blues Acquire Dalton Wright

Jun 24, 2021

Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that we have acquired forward Dalton Wright from the Northeast Generals!

Wright, a left handed shooting forward from Hamburg, NY, just concluded his second season of junior hockey. A 2019-20 draft pick of the Jr. Blues, he spent a year with the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL) before joining the Bismarck Bobcats and Northeast this season. In a combined 32 games this year Wright compiled 4 goals and 3 assists.

“Dalton is a skilled forward who already has two years of junior experience under his belt”, Head Coach Tyler Rennete said. “We knew in 2019 when we drafted him that he had the talent, and we are excited to see what he is able to contribute this upcoming season.”

Wright joins a lengthy list of tenders and supplemental draft picks that the Jr. Blues have already acquired. Some of these players are returners, such as Jonathan Panisa, Carson Jones, and Cole Schneider. Other players are coming straight out of youth programs, such as Carter Schram, Noah Holt, and Jared Kaplowitz.

The Jr. Blues announced our return to play earlier this Spring and we are finally able to get back onto the ice this weekend when we host our 2021 Draft Camp at the Nelson Center. The camp begins on Friday and runs through Sunday and is available to the public.
