For our 30th Anniversary season the Springfield Jr. Blues are proud to partner with Jimmy John’s to name the Jimmy John’s Player of the Month Award! Each month this season we will recognize a player who has gone above and beyond to help the team on the ice and exceeded expectations. Each winner will receive a special gift courtesy of Jimmy John’s!
April: Hayden Riva, Forward, Lakeville, CT
Veteran forward Hayden Riva becomes first repeat winner earning player of the month for April. In his final game ever as a Jr. Blue, Riva notched both goals in a 5-2 loss and notched 3 goals and 1 assist in 5 games. Hayden has appeared in 97 games in the capitol city tallying 17 goals and 17 assists.
March: Adyn Merrick, Forward – Saline, MI
Rookie forward Adyn Merrick has been named player of the month in March. Merrick proved to be an offensive threat notching 3 goals and 4 assists in 10 games which included a 2-point game March 18 at Fairbanks. In 40 games this season, Adyn has 10 goals and 8 assists.
February: Alex Fendler, Forward – St. Louis, MO
First year forward Alex Fendler has been named the Jimmy John’s Athlete of The Month for February after tallying 3 goals and 2 assists in 9 games. Fendler notched 2 goals, including the GWG, in a win February 24 vs. the Minnesota Wilderness. In 45 games this season, Alex has 10 goals and 9 assists.
January: Hadley Hudak, Forward – Canton, MI
Our Jimmy John’s Athlete of The Month for January is forward Hadley Hudak. Hudak was a physical force for the Jr. Blues and notched 1 assist and 23 penalty minutes in 8 games. Hadley appeared in 59 games this season and tallied 14 points and 110 minutes in the box.
November: Hayden Riva, Forward – Lakeville, CT
Veteran forward Hayden Riva was named our Jimmy John’s Athlete of the Month for November after tallying 3 goals and 2 assists with a +5 rating. Riva is in his second season in Springfield and has appeared in 71 games with 12 goals, 11 assists, and 64 PIMs.
October: Nikita Nikora, Forward – St. Petersburg, Russia
Rookie forward Nikita Nikora has earned Player of the Month honors for the month of October after recording 4 goals and 6 assists in 10 games played. Nikora sits in the Top 5 in scoring amongst all rookies in the NAHL alongside teammate Tyler Borgula.
September: Tyler Borgula, Forward – Livonia, MI
Our 1st Jimmy John’s Player of the Month award goes to rookie forward Tyler Borgula. Borgula tallied 3 goals and 1 assist in 5 games including the game winning goal against the New Jersey Titans at the NAHL Showcase.
