Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that defenseman Jack Boxer has announced his collegiate commitment to St. Olaf College!

Boxer, a native of Colorado Springs, CO, finished up his junior career in Springfield after parts of three seasons within the Amarillo/North Iowa Bulls organization. In 29 games with the Jr. Blues the blueliner recorded 1 goal and 7 assists and was a +7 after appearing in 21 games with 4 assists for North Iowa.

“Jack joined us just before the halfway mark of the season and provided a veteran presence on the blueline for us from day one,” said Head Coach Tyler Rennette. “He’s earned this opportunity at St. Olaf and we are excited to see what he’s able to accomplish.”

In 75 career NAHL games, Boxer accumulated 2 goals, 15 assists, and a +15 rating. He played his youth hockey in the Colorado Rampage organization before joining Amarillo during the 2018-19 season.

Boxer is the 12th player to commit to an NCAA program from our 2021-22 roster as he joins Fisher Scott (Colorado College), Michael Valdez (Colorado College), Connor Smith (Union College), Hagen Moe (Bowling Green), Joey Dosan (Army-West Point), Ethan Roberts (St. Thomas), Mac Gadowsky (Army-West Point), Tristan Shewchuk (St. Scholastica), Daniel Juzych (Colby College), Cole Dubicki (Tufts University), and Jonathan Panisa (St. Olaf College).

Congratulations on your commitment Jack and we look forward to seeing what you’re able to do in college and beyond!
