Game 2 Gets Away from Jr. Blues

Sep 20, 2019

Blaine, Minnesota – The Springfield Jr. Blues kicked off Day 2 at the 2019 NAHL Showcase with an afternoon matchup against the Minnesota Wilderness. While the first half of the game remained close, the Wilderness pulled away in the later half of the game to win 5-1.

For the Jr. Blues, Max Osborne picked up his first goal of the season :27 into the 2nd period to tie the game 1-1. Assists on the goal were credited to Aaron Shaw and Jayden Jensen, their first points of the regular season. Henry Graham got the start in net for the Jr. Blues, stopping 13/18 shots that he faced in the contest.

By the Numbers:

Showcase Record – With the loss against the Wilderness the Jr. Blues have now dropped the first two games of the NAHL Showcase for the first time since the 2012-13 season. The Jr. Blues finished that year’s showcase 1-3.

New Faces – Adisen Brueck donned #25 yesterday in his first action with the Jr. Blues since joining the team this week. Brueck, a Plantation, FL native, had been tendered by the Jr. Blues last season but had been battling for a spot on the Madison Capitols roster.

Incorrectly Listed – Here are the correct numbers for players at the showcase: Bobby Burns #2, Jackson Salt #4, Noah Marino #5, Cam Cervone #7, Quinton Murphy #14, Spencer Silver #15, Henry Graham #30. We hope the clarification will help to alleviate any confusion in the discrepancy between our score sheet and what is posted on the league website.
