Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues, Proud member of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that defensemen Ben Edwards has announced his collegiate commitment to St. Norbert College!
Edwards, a native of Boise, ID, arrived in Springfield in September after being acquired from the Anchorage Wolverines. In 51 games with the Jr. Blues, he tallied 6 assists and spent 37 minutes in the penalty box.
“Ben was a very solid defender for us this season,” said Head Coach Todd Pococke. “He has the qualities every team is looking for in an athlete and a person.”
Last season, Ben appeared in 31 games for the Anchorage Wolverines before suffering a season ending injury. He played his youth hockey for the Nashville Jr. Predators and was teammates with current Jr. Blues players Landry Schmuck, Brayden Cook and Carson Dorfman.
Ben Joins Hayden Riva (Lake Forest), Carter Cloutier (Lawrence), Jake Peterson (Air Force), James Callahan (Air Force), Tyler Borgula (Quinnipiac), Cole Lonsdale (RIT), Nikita Nikora (Dartmouth), Adyn Merrick (Northern Michigan), and Hagen Moe (Bowling Green) to commit to an NCAA program.
