Jun 27, 2022

Springfield, Illinois – The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that defenseman Daniel Juzych has committed to play collegiate hockey for Colby College!

Juzych is a native of Bloomfield Hills, MI and just wrapped up his second junior hockey season and first with the Jr. Blues. Danny battled through several injuries this past year but appeared in 35 games overall and tallied 1 goal and 7 assists, his first junior hockey goal. Juzych was acquired from the Fairbanks Ice Dogs prior to this season after appearing in 21 games last season, tallying 1 assist.

“Danny joined us with some NAHL experience under his belt and was a true leader all season long,” said Head Coach Tyler Rennette. “Colby is getting a good player who is an even better young man, and we are very happy for him!”

Juzych joins Fisher Scott (Colorado College), Michael Valdez (Colorado College), Connor Smith (Union College), Hagen Moe (Bowling Green), Joey Dosan (Army-West Point), Ethan Roberts (St. Thomas), Mac Gadowsky (Army-West Point), and Tristan Shewchuk (St. Scholastica) as the ninth player from the 2021-22 roster to commit to an NCAA program.

Congratulations Danny and we look forward to seeing what you are able to accomplish in college and beyond!
