Brueck, Proctor & Wilson Help Jr. Blues Win Two

Sep 23, 2019

Blaine, Minnesota – The Springfield Jr. Blues regrouped after starting the 2019 NAHL Showcase 0-2 to finish the week with two big wins against the New Jersey Titans (Fri. September 20th) and the Corpus Christi IceRays (Sat. September 21st). With the two wins, the Jr. Blues will now begin their home portion of the regular season with a 2-2 record.

On Friday, Adisen Brueck scored two goals in his second game with the team while Aaron Swanson scored a late goal in the 3rd period to give the Jr. Blues a 3-2 victory over previously undefeated New Jersey. Alex Proctor got the nod in net and stopped 26 of 28 shots sent his way to pick up his first junior hockey win. Caden Villegas added two assists while Giovanni Carabelli had one assist.

Saturday’s contest was the second time the Jr. Blues and IceRays had played each other this month with the previous meeting being a preseason game at the 2019 Southern Showdown (SPR won 2-0). Brueck would score his 3rd goal of the season to give the Jr. Blues a 1-0 lead assisted by Max Osborne. That would be all that Ryan Wilson would require as he stopped all 28 shots that Corpus Christi sent his way to pick up his first junior hockey shutout and victory.

The Jr. Blues will now begin their home portion of their regular season as we welcome the Topeka Pilots to town this weekend (9/27 & 9/28).
