Blues Outplayed By Janesville

Mar 29, 2012

The Jets did what they needed to do in the first period and that was keep the puck away from their rookie goalie and in their offensive zone.  They outshot the Jr. Blues in the first stanza 15 – 5, and drew first blood with a Power Play goal at 16:34.  The Blues were out hustled and out played throughout the first period.  Four penalties were called on the Blues in the first to zero for the home team.  Mike Williams was assessed a two minute minor and a ten minute major for a check from behind.  The Jets did not allow the Blues to mount any offensive threat in the first and the Blue and Gold looked a bit sluggish.

The second period was worse than the first as the Jets scored three more times to take a 4 – 0 lead at the 15:36 mark.  Chris Sitler finally scored to get the Blues on the board with two minutes left in the period with an assist from Kyle Cook.  With nine penalties called through two periods, seven have been called against the Blue and Gold.

It was more of the same in the third as the Jets just dominated the game.  They out hustled the Blues all night, but no one was injured during this game and they’ll play again tomorrow night at 7:00 pm.  Congratulations to the Jets, they earned the victory tonight.
