A Perfect 10! Springfield Rolls to 10-2 Victory

The Springfield Jr. Blues received goals from 9 different players and put up a season high 10 goals, as they defeated the Kenai River Brown Bears by a final score of 10-2 Saturday night at The Nelson Center.

It was a shaky start to the game for Springfield. They fell behind 1-0 when the Brown Bears scored with 8:32 remaining in the 1st period. Springfield was able to take the lead before the period ended with goals from Jordan Muzzillo and Brennan Blaszczak. Springfield led 2-1 after the 1st period.

Springfield conceded another goal in the 2nd period, but were able to add three more goals before intermission. Springfield goal scorers in the second were Chase Mickelson, Brandon Puricelli and Matt Cassidy to make the score 5-2.

The goals kept coming in the 3rd period as they doubled their total from the first two periods, adding five more goals. In the third period, Springfield received goals from Fabio Hollenstein, Christian Simeone, Fletcher Fineman, and Max Nylander. Cassidy added his second of the game to cap the scoring at 10 for Springfield, setting a new season high in the process.

Mike Robinson was in net for Springfield, stopping 35 of 37 Kenai River shots on goal.
