A Message to Our Fans

Mar 18, 2020

Springfield, Illinois – With the abrupt conclusion of the 2019-20 season, the Springfield Jr. Blues organization has released the following letter to you, the fans.

Dear Jr. Blues fans,

The 2019-20 season ended earlier than we anticipated, and we are just as heartbroken as you are that hockey will not be played again until the fall. But, as we continue to learn more about the current COVID-19 situation, we support the decision by the league to cancel the remaining regular season games and the playoffs.

This decision was made by the North American Hockey League’s Board of Governors with the main goal of player and fan safety at our games, practices, and community events. We know that many may view this as an overreaction, but it is the right thing to do in this uncertain time.

Our wish is that we focus on getting healthy,  not just within our community but across the country as well. We want to thank everyone for their understanding and support right now as we continue to learn more about how COVID-19 impacts us all.

With all of that in mind, we are very much looking forward to the upcoming 2020-21 season, which will be our 28th year in the NAHL. Now more than ever, your support is paramount to our continued success in the future.

Sincerely,

Springfield Jr. Blues Organization”

Thank you for everything, we can not wait until we are able to see you again at The Nelson Center!
