Game Recap – Springfield WINS

Your Springfield Jr. Blues came away with a WIN tonight against the Janesville Jets. Catch them in action again tomorrow night at 6:05 PM! A ticket to tomorrow night’s game also gets you admittance to our 25th Anniversary Game Alumni Game at 3pm, with doors opening at 2pm.

 

The first period was quiet, with no goals from either team, leaving the score 0-0.

 

The second period stayed silent as well, with a few penalties exchanged but no goals. We ended the second still 0-0.

 

Both goalies were incredibly sharp throughout the game, leading to no score through the third. The third ended 0-0, sending us to overtime.

 

In overtime, Jordan Muzzillo found the back of the net with assists from Puricelli and Shultze, winning the game for Springfield! Goaltender Evan Fear stopped all 30 pucks he saw, earning him a shutout tonight!

Game Recap – Springfield WINS!

Your Springfield Jr. Blues came away with an overtime win tonight against the Minnesota Magicians, making them 1-1 in the three-game home stand thus far. We have one more game against the Magicians tomorrow night at 6:05 PM!

 

The first period started with the Magicians tallying at 4:24, with the rest of the period staying quiet. We ended the period with a score of 1-0.

 

The second period opened with a power play goal by Max Brainin with an assist from Shultz and Walter, tying the game at 1-1. Springfield struck again at 8:02 of the period, with a goal from Captain Fletcher Fineman, assists from Brainin and Swanson. The Magicians tied things back up at 14: 36, making the score 2-2 to end the period.

 

The third period was quiet, with the score remaining at 2-2 until the end, sending us into overtime. The overtime goal went to Brandon Puricelli, with assists from Kozyrev and Fineman, winning the game for your Springfield Jr. Blues!

Weekend Recap – Springfield SWEEPS!

Your Springfield Jr. Blues came away with a 6-3 win tonight against Coulee Region, sweeping the series. They will face the Chill again next weekend in Coulee Region. Be sure to stop by Cooper’s AlleySide to catch all of our away games!

 

Your Springfield Jr. Blues started off the scoring at 0:44 of the first period with a goal from Ethan Stewart, with assists from Haviland and Kozyrev. Coulee Region responded with two of their own, before Fabio Hollenstein lit the lamp one more time for Springfield. His goal was at 17:37 of the period with assists from Kozyrev and Walter. We ended the period 2-2.

 

In the second period, Springfield started off the scoring once again with a goal from Spencer DenBeste at 3:44, with assists from Brainin and Hollenstein. Coulee quickly retaliated, tying the game once again. The score stayed 3-3 through most of the period, until Brandon Puricelli found the back of the net with just 11 seconds remaining in the period. His timely goal sent us into the second intermission leading 4-3.

 

The third period was quiet for a while until both Ethan Stewart and Giovanni Carabelli found empty netters at 18:34 and 19:32, respectively.
