Your Springfield Jr. Blues came away with a loss tonight against the Janesville Jets, splitting the series. The team will be on the road for the next few weekends, making their trip to Alaska to face Fairbanks and Kenai! You can catch the away games at Cooper’s AlleySide for our viewing parties!

 

The first period started with three goals from Janesville, at 2:05, 5:05, and 7:01. At 11:33 Springfield responded with a goal from Brandon Puricellli with assists from Muzzillo and Haviland. Janesville found the back of the net a fourth time, causing goal tender Evan Fear to head to the bench and Jurja Ovecka to step into net at 12:53 of the period. The period ended with one more Springfield goal, this time from Spencer DenBeste on the power play. His assists came from Brainin and Mickelson at 16:12 of the period. We headed into the intermission with a score of 4-2.

 

The second period started with a goal from Nikita Kozyrev at 5:17 with an assist from Stewart, putting your Springfield Jr. Blues within one! Janesville found the back of the net while shorthanded at 14:00 of the period, bringing the score to 5-3. Janesville’s Reid Hill took a 5 minute slashing minor and a game misconduct penalty at the end of this period, giving your Springfield Jr. Blues the one man advantage going into the third period.

 

Your Springfield Jr. Blues started the third with 2:41 remaining on their power play. Unable to capitalize on this, the score stayed at 5-3 in favor of Janesville. At 18:10 Janesville struck again, finishing the game 6-3.
