Springfield Tops Fairbanks 2-1

The Springfield Jr. Blues found success tonight against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs by defeating the visiting team 2-1 Friday night at The Nelson Center. 

Forward Nolan Turi found the back of the net first at 11:10 of the first period, with assists from Patrick Smyth and Josh Norman. The period finished with Springfield holding a one goal lead.

The Ice Dogs started off the scoring in the second period with a power play goal at 5:15. Springfield responded at 13:22 with a goal of their own by Forward Aiden Beck, assists from Max Brainin and Fletcher Fineman.

The score stayed at 2 -1 in favor of the home team third period to finish out this game with a win. Springfield goaltender Juraj Ovecka made 24 of 25 saves in net.

Your Springfield Jr. Blues will face the Fairbanks Ice Dogs once again tomorrow night, with puck drop at 6:05pm! After the game, fans can head to Cooper’s AlleySide inside King Pin Lanes for a post-game
