The Springfield Jr. Blues traveled to Janesville, Wisconsin this past weekend and came away with a series split. Springfield won the opening contest of the series on Friday night by a score of 2-1. However, the Saturday night game favored the home team, with the Janesville Jets taking a 2-0 victory.

On Friday night, Springfield received a power play goal from Max Nylander that put Springfield up 1-0 early in the second period. Janesville responded quickly, scoring just 19 seconds later to tie the game at 1.

Springfield goaltender Mike Robinson picked up the victory in net, stopping 42 of 43 shots on goal.

In Saturday’s series finale, Springfield received a great effort in goal from the newest Springfield Jr. Blues goaltender Jordan Greenfield-Flemon who stopped 45 of 47 shots. However, the Springfield offense was unable to put any goals on the scoreboard and suffered a 2-0 defeat.
