On Friday and Saturday night, La Crosse, Wisconsin will be the site of arguably the most important games in the entire North American Hockey League.

This weekend, the Springfield Jr. Blues will travel up north to battle the Coulee Region Chill. Both of these teams are separated by only 1 point in the NAHL Midwest Division standing for 4th place.  Only the top 4 teams in each division make the NAHL Robertson Cup Playoffs.

Coulee Region also has 2 games in hand on Springfield when the teams square off on Friday night. Coulee Region has played 49 of 60 games, while Springfield has played 51.

With 6 of their final 9 games against Coulee Region, Springfield Head Coach Tony Zasowski knows that if they take care of business against the Chill, then they will be sitting in a good position come playoff time.

“We are in a must win situation for the rest of the season. We’re in a battle for 4th place with (Coulee Region). Playing them 6 of our final 9 games, we are in control of our playoff destiny. We have to come ready to play.”
