Springfield Looks to Keep it Rolling in Kenai

Nov 18, 2016

Kenai, AK– The Springfield Jr. Blues will be searching for a sweep on their annual Alaska road trip, when they start a two game series with the Kenai River Brown Bears tonight in Kenai, AK

The Jr. Blues (8-11-0-1) started their trip with a strong performance last weekend, where they were able to sweep two games against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, who are the defending Robertson Cup champions, on their home ice. “To be able to come into Fairbanks and take two games in a tough environment says a lot about our team,” said Head Coach Tony Zasowski. “The boys worked hard, played good Jr. Blues hockey, and we were able to come away with two victories.”

Springfield has been lead recently by goaltender Evan Fear (Winnetka, IL) and forward Matt Long (Orland Park, IL). Both Fear and Long were honored this week being named NAHL Midwest Division 1st and 2nd Stars of the week .

Puck drops tonight and Saturday at 7:30pm AKST (10:30 CST) and can be viewed on nahl.hockeytv.com. You can also check out the Jr. Blues social media pages and jrblues.com for updates on the games.
