Springfield Defeats Janesville 3-1

The Springfield Jr. Blues received goals from 3 different players and defeated the 1st-place Janesville Jets 3-1 on Friday night in North American Hockey League action.

Springfield started the scoring early as Aiden Beck scored just 3:51 into the game. Beck finished off a pass from Cole Lawrence by beating the Janesville goaltender over his blocker to give Springfield a 1-0 lead. Springfield then conceded their only goal against on the night just before the 1st period ended.

Springfield was able to regain their lead midway through the 2nd period as Jeff Skinner re-directed a shot on the power play that got past the Jets goaltender. The lead stayed at 2-1 through the end of the 2nd period.

Springfield concluded their scoring in the third period as defenseman Fletcher Fineman’s point shot found the back of the net. Fineman’s goal now tied him with Jordan Muzzillo for the NAHL lead in goals by a defenseman.

Evan Fear was solid again in goal for Springfield, stopping 29 of 30 shots faced.
