Off To A Gr-Eight Start, Springfield Wins 8-2

The Springfield Jr. Blues came out flying in their return to action at The Nelson Center on Friday night. Springfield erupted for 8 goals against ACHA powerhouse Lindenwood University, defeating the Lions 8-2.

The Springfield offense was powered by returning forward Zach Tyson. Tyson scored 4 goals for the home team, with 1 in the first period, 2 in the second, and his final goal on the power play in the third.

Springfield also received goals from forwards Callahan Johnson, Zach Shapiro, Shane Haviland and Nikita Kozyrev. In goal for Springfield, Juraj Oveka and Connor Poczos split time and both allowed just 1 goal a piece.
