The Jr. Blues are proud to announce that Michael Mylchreest has been promoted to the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL.  Michael played last season for the Jr. Blues posting 4 goals, 8 assists and 74 pims in 56 games.  Mylchreest started the season with the Brandon Wheat Kings in the Western Hockey League before returning to Springfield.  Michael played 8 games for the Jr. Blues this season.

"I am excited for Michael.  Coach Allison in Des Moines is a former NHL and AHL Head Coach.  When he plays well in Des Moines, Coach Allison will have the network of friends who will be able to give Michael a shot in professional hockey." said Head Coach Tony Zasowski

Michael Mylchreest is the 6th Jr. Blues to get promoted to the USHL in the last 12 months.  Patrick Curry(Tri-Cities) and Kevin Shand(Cedar Rapids) left the Jr. Blues mid-season last year.  Mike Severson(Chicago) and Stefanos Lekkas(Sioux Falls) made USHL teams this offseason.  Max Kalter was called up by Sioux City after the NAHL Showcase when he was leading the Jr. Blues in scoring.  Only Kalter and Lekkas were drafted by USHL teams prior to the promotion.

"Every season, we make a conscience effort to recruit young, skilled, dedicated hockey players.  The fact that we have been able to promote so many player proves that we are doing things the right way and the USHL has taken notice." said Head Coach Zasowski
