Jr. Blues Split Weekend In Janesville

Dec 13, 2015

The Jr. Blues split the weekend with the Janesville Jets and pick up 3 points with a 4-3 loss in a shootout on Friday Night and a 3-2 win on Saturday Night.

Friday night the Jr. Blues started with the lead after a Matt Long goal off assists from Anthony Scarsella and Joey Lupo. Janesville tied it up but then Sam Craggs found the back of the net off of assists from Trevor Stone and Isaac Ceh. Kyle Meeh then extended the lead to 3-1 off assists from Hunter Schneider and Coale Norris. However, Janesville scored two third period goals to send the game into overtime. Neither team scored in overtime so the game went into a shootout where Janesville pulled out the win.

On Saturday night the Jr. Blues jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with a pair of first period goals. The first was an unassisted goal from Brennan Blaszczak at the 3:20 mark and the second was a Jeff Skinner goal off assists from Brady Tomlak and Anthony Scarsella. The Jets would cut the lead to 2-1 but then Skinner found the back of the net for the second time in the game this time off assists from Erich Fear and Hunter Schneider to extend the lead to 3-1. The Jets would score again in the third period, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Jr. Blues picked up the 3-2 win.

The Jr. Blues are back home this weekend to take on the Topeka Roadrunners. Friday Night is the Teddy Bear Toss. There will be $5 tickets at the door if you bring a Teddy Bear to participate. Neuhoff Media will be giving away a poster that night as well. Saturday is a Holiday Skate with the Team presented by Springfieldmoms.org with an appearance by Santa.
