Jr Blues Get Weekend Split

The Jr Blues split the weekend with the Topeka Roadrunners with a 4-1 loss on Friday Night and a 6-4 win on Saturday night.

 

Friday Night, the Jr Blues found themselves in a 3-0 deficit early in the second period. They were able to get on the board with a Sam Craggs goal off of the assist form Trevor Stone at the 15:55 mark of the second period but, the Jr blues couldn’t mount the comeback and fell 4-1.

 

Saturday night saw plenty of scoring. The Jr Blues got tings going early with a Jeff Skinner goal assisted by Craggs and Stone at the 3:12 mark in the first period. Just a few minutes later Brady Tomlak scored off assists from Coale Norris and Kyle Meeh. The Roadrunners would tie it up 2-2 at the end of the first period but then Brennan Blaszczak would give the lead back to theJr Blues with his goal off assist form Stone and Tomlak. Luke Radetic added another goal off assists from Brenden Van Sweeden and Drew Richter. Jeff Skinner got the Jr Blues third goal of the second period off of assists from Craggs and Stone to give the Jr Blues the 5-4 lead.  Radetic would add an insurance goal in the third period off assists from Richter and Van Sweeden to give the Jr Blues a 6-4 victory.

 

 The Jr Blues are back at home this weekend taking on the Minnesota Wilderness. Friday night is Armed Services Appreciation, with $5 tickets at the door for active and retired military and a t shirt giveaway from Primo Designs. Saturday night is Teacher Appreciation night with $5 tickets for teachers and school staff with ID. Teachers can enter to win a Jr Blues party for their class.
