Jr. Blues Acquire Parker Johnson from Wenatchee Wild

May 18, 2012- The Springfield Jr. Blues are pleased to announce they have acquired Parker Johnson from the Wenatchee Wild.

Johnson, who is a Bloomington, IL native, recorded 4 goals and 9 assists in 54 games for the Wild this past season.

The Jr. Blues also received a tender for the 2012-13 season in the deal, which sent Jr. Blues defensemen Kevin Walters to the Wild.

Johnson graduates from Bloomington High School this month with a 5.0 GPA and High Honor Roll standard. He also received the Unsung Hero Award for the Wild this season.

“We’re excited to acquire a central Illinois hockey product that not only continues to strengthen our team on the ice but also in the classroom and the community, “ said Coach Zasowski.

The Jr. Blues will be holding Pre-Draft Camp tryouts this weekend at the Nelson Center with games beginning Friday night at 6 P.M. The All-Star game will be Sunday morning at 8 A.M.
